Apartment Complex Damage Recovery
Fire completely destroyed four units in this large apartment complex and damaged several others. Extensive structural, siding, and trim work was required, along with complete reconstruction and refurbishment of all interiors. The construction scope expanded after field investigation and documentation of additional required work.
Two-Story Home Damage Recovery
This 2,370 sq. ft. two-story home, built in 1968, was completely destroyed by fire. We rebuilt it from the ground up. The owner elected to enlarge the footprint and reconfigure the kitchen, and we installed custom cabinetry throughout.
Victorian Home Damage Recovery
This 126-year-old Victorian was completely gutted by fire. The renovation restored certain classic features while upgrading and modernizing others. The owners elected to raise the entire structure and add a ground floor unit, requiring significant architectural and engineering coordination.
Ranch Style Home Damage Recovery
This Ranch Style home, built in 1954, burned completely to the ground. We rebuilt with a nearly identical footprint while completing upgrades to the kitchen, bathrooms, and interior. Considerable design work was required to match the period character of the neighborhood.
Spanish Colonial Damage Recovery
This elaborately constructed 1928 Spanish Colonial home was almost completely destroyed. We reproduced the fine finishes — hardwood trim, mahogany doors, and plank oak flooring. Custom-designed and fabricated features were installed throughout. The owners sold the home immediately upon completion to their great financial benefit.
Alameda Ranch Damage Recovery
Fully gutted by fire and rebuilt by Coast using insurance policy proceeds, this midcentury house was taken to the studs. All new from the drywall in, with new floors, kitchen, and bathroom. A straightforward full-gut rebuild executed on schedule.
Antioch Ranch Kitchen Damage Recovery
Kitchen fire damage to this ranch-style home. Rebuild included full kitchen replacement, surrounding rooms affected by smoke and fire damage, and required flooring and finish work through multiple rooms. Insurance-funded, supplemented as needed.
Beauty Salon Damage Recovery
When a fire is severe enough for the fire department to cut a ventilation hole in the roof, the recovery is substantial. Coast repaired and re-covered the flat roof of this commercial condo and then completed a full interior rebuild, returning the business to operation.
Berkeley Bungalow Damage Recovery
A fire in the upstairs bedroom spread into the attic of this historic Berkeley bungalow. Fire hose water then cascaded through the structure. The rebuild required careful attention to the building’s pre-bridge-era construction details while bringing all systems to current code.
Moraga Kitchen Damage Recovery
A kitchen fire that spread to surrounding cabinets and structure. This home received a completely new kitchen, followed by additional flooring replacement and finish work through the affected areas. Insurance-funded, completed on schedule.
Oakland Hills Brown Shingle Recovery
An accidental fire in the living room while the owners were on vacation resulted in whole-house smoke contamination. The construction scope expanded after field investigation and documentation of additional required work.
Oakland Hills Tudor Damage Recovery
Exposed beam ceiling. Tudor-style construction throughout. It was important to the owners that period details be preserved correctly while electrical and plumbing systems were brought to modern code — something that requires both construction expertise and design sensibility.
Commercial Hotel Board-Up
Coast was called to secure this building near the Tesla factory after it had been taken over by squatters following closure. A court-appointed receiver ordered the property secured. We used over 100 sheets of plywood and interlocking 2×4 framing to fully secure the two lowest levels.
1920s Berkeley Hills Home — $1M+ Rebuild
This tri-level 1920s home was completely gutted by fire and red-tagged afterwards. The restoration exceeded one million dollars and was transformative — including removal of a wall between kitchen and dining room, French doors to a completely rebuilt deck, and full structural work on all three levels.
